local server

Hi,

I have been using brutile and dotspatial to connect to OSM. It works great, however i have been told that our project won't have internet access so I need to work offline with a local server (geoserver).
Can someone please advise me how to do this?
-how get the map form the server (using an url)
-how to store it and convert it to a layer?

thanks for any ides.

The best solution is probably to use MBTiles. So you don't have to create a local server.

Thank you for your answer pauldendulk,

I read about MBTiles, and from my understanding it works with SQLite (local serverless database).
Our project aims to give service to several computers so a local server which will manage our data will be a better solution for us.
Any advise how to do this using brutile?

Although, I want to continue to explore MBTiles. Can you point me to some code examples that demonstrate the use of MBTiles?

Thanks for your answers,

I think this thread answers your question if you are using an OSM schema:
